These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of courier, logistics, and shipping services by Yard2Yard Shipping ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") to you ("Customer," "Client," or "you"). By requesting our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

Yard2Yard Shipping provides air and sea freight logistics, including parcel collection, processing, and delivery.

  • Pick-up Locations: Wakefield District, St. Catherine, and Linstead.

  • Delivery Services: Standard delivery and Personal delivery options are available upon request.

  • Operating Hours: * Monday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

    • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

    • Holidays/Weekend Services: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

2. Customer Responsibilities

  • Documentation: The Customer is responsible for providing accurate and complete invoices, receipts, and descriptions for all goods shipped.

  • Packaging: All items must be packed securely for transport. Yard2Yard Shipping is not liable for damage resulting from inadequate packaging.

  • Compliance: Customers must ensure all items comply with Jamaican Customs and Excise Department regulations.

3. Company Responsibilities

  • Care Standards: Yard2Yard Shipping commits to exercising reasonable care in the handling, sorting, and transportation of all packages within our control.

  • Communication: We will provide timely updates regarding the status of shipments where possible via our listed contact channels.

4. Pricing and Payment

  • Fee Structure: Charges are calculated based on weight and service type.

    • Base Rate: $650 JMD per lb (subject to change).

    • Processing Fee: A flat fee of $150 JMD applies to all shipments.

    • Personal Delivery: Available upon request at a rate of $700 JMD per delivery.

  • Payment Terms: All shipping fees, customs duties, and service charges must be paid in full prior to the final release or delivery of goods.

  • Currency: All transactions are conducted in Jamaican Dollars (JMD).

5. Storage Fees

Packages held at our collection point for longer than fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of arrival notification shall incur a storage fee of $100 JMD per day. Continued failure to collect packages may result in the disposal or auctioning of items in accordance with local regulations.

6. Liability and Insurance

  • Limitation of Liability: Yard2Yard Shipping’s liability for any loss, damage, or delay is limited to the value of the shipping service paid, or the declared value of the item, whichever is lower.

  • Claims Process: Claims for lost or damaged items must be submitted in writing to [email protected] within forty-eight (48) hours of receipt or notice of loss. Proof of value and photographic evidence of damage are required.

  • Exclusions: We are not liable for indirect losses, including but not limited to loss of profit, income, or market value.

7. Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited from shipment via Yard2Yard Shipping, in accordance with Jamaican Law:

  • Illegal drugs and controlled substances.

  • Firearms, ammunition, and explosives.

  • Counterfeit goods or pirated material.

  • Any items restricted by the Jamaica Customs Agency.

  • Perishable goods that are not properly packaged for transport.

  • Hazardous materials (unless authorized by special permit).

8. Delivery Terms

  • Timeframes: While we strive for timely delivery, all timelines are estimates. External factors such as weather, flight delays, or customs inspections may impact arrival times.

  • Failed Delivery: If a personal delivery cannot be completed due to the recipient's absence or incorrect address, the package will be returned to our facility, and a re-delivery fee will apply.

9. Force Majeure

Yard2Yard Shipping shall not be held liable for any failure to perform our obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: severe weather events, natural disasters, strikes, port congestion, government-mandated lockdowns, or acts of war.

10. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first seek an amicable resolution through direct communication. If the issue remains unresolved, it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Jamaica. Both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Jamaican courts.

11. Privacy and Data Protection

We respect your privacy. Personal information collected (name, address, contact details) is used solely for the purpose of facilitating your shipments and providing customer service. We do not sell or share your data with unauthorized third parties.

12. Modification of Terms

Yard2Yard Shipping reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our social media pages or being made available at our office locations. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate service to any Customer who violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or uses our services for illegal purposes.

14. Refund Policy

Refunds for shipping services are granted only in cases where the Company has failed to meet its contractual obligations. Refunds for customs duties are subject to the policies of the Jamaica Customs Agency and are not controlled by Yard2Yard Shipping.
